Lakeville Robotics, in partnership with Lakeville's FLL, FTC, and FRC teams, hosted two days of FIRST LEGO League & FIRST Tech Challenge tournaments on November 17 & 18, 2018.
Fifty six FLL and FTC teams competed on Saturday and twenty eight FTC teams competed on Sunday. More than 780 MN students from 4th-12th grade competed over the two days of tournaments. Six of Lakeville’s 10 FLL teams and two of Lakeville 7 FTC teams competed at the tournament. Students and parents from Lakeville FLL, FTC, and FRC robotics teams along with NHS and AVID students played crucial roles volunteering at the tournaments to make the two days a success.

Lakeville FLL teams won six of the 9 awards given at the Saturday tournament:
The Powerful Programming Puppies and the Martian-Mallows both advanced to Sectional competition in January.
Lakeville FTC Team #13603 Hacker Cats was a finalist for the Connect award, given to the team that best connects with their local STEM community.
- Team #18502 UniGears won the Core Values Award.
- Team #24298 Powerful Programming Puppies won the Programming Award.
- Team #30755 Lakeville’s Legendary Dragons won the Robot Design Award.
- Team #39199 Martian-Mallows won the Research Project Award, the Robot Performance Award, and took 2nd place in the Head to Head competition.
The Powerful Programming Puppies and the Martian-Mallows both advanced to Sectional competition in January.
